Stair Climbers & Steppers for Sale
Climbing is the most time-efficient cardio on the floor, and it builds the glutes and legs in a way flat cardio cannot. This category covers four machine types: revolving stair climbers (StepMills), pedal-style steppers, vertical climbers such as the VersaClimber and Jacobs Ladder, and seated recumbent steppers for rehab.
Choose a revolving staircase for the most realistic (and demanding) climb, a pedal stepper for a compact, joint-friendly step motion, a vertical climber for total-body conditioning, or a recumbent stepper for accessible, supported cardio.

More About Stair Climbers & Steppers
Revolving stair climbers are tall — usually 70–75 inches to the top step — so check ceiling height (allow the user's height plus about 20 inches above the top step). Pedal steppers such as the StairMaster 4400 and Life Fitness PowerMill-style units are shorter and take a smaller footprint. VersaClimbers reach 7.5–8 feet and need a wall or ceiling anchor on some models.
Most machines in this category are self-powered, which is convenient for placement. Stair climbers put a lot of load through the frame and step mechanism, so buying commercial grade matters even for a home gym. Our remanufactured StepMills receive new chains, step pads, bearings and rollers as needed before shipping with our warranty.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a StepMill and a stepper?
A StepMill (revolving stair climber) has real rotating stairs, like an escalator in reverse. A stepper has two pedals that move up and down under your feet.
How tall is a stair climber?
Revolving stair climbers stand about 70–80 inches tall and the user stands near the top, so plan on a ceiling height of at least 9 feet for most users.
Are stair climbers hard on the knees?
Climbing is low impact — there is no landing shock — but it loads the knees more than an elliptical. Users with knee issues usually do well on a pedal stepper or recumbent stepper.
