Center-drive designs put the pedals close together for a more upright walking posture and a smaller footprint. Ramp incline, found on most premium models, changes muscle emphasis from quads to glutes and hamstrings.
Self-powered ellipticals generate their own electricity from the flywheel, so they can be placed anywhere on the floor with no outlet — a big advantage in older buildings or rooftop gyms. Plug-in models are needed for large touchscreen consoles with TV and streaming. Remanufactured ellipticals receive new bearings, wheels, ramps and belts as needed and are repainted before leaving our shop.
